Surprise Weddings are the best, they’ve got a bit of everything. Mystery, Sneakiness, Covertness and a Secret that must be kept! Jade and Liam held their Engagement party at Bronte Surf Club in Sydney and with both being such loved people they attracted a huge crowd of family and close friends, somewhere in the area of 200+. Little did the guests realise that they weren’t there to celebrate an engagement but a surprise wedding on Bronte Headland. While guests mingled from 3pm onwards, a crew of designers, florists, chefs, coordinators and most importantly close friends worked tirelessly behind the scenes to pull it all together.  At 4:45pm an announcement came over the PA system that all guests move up to the headland where a beautiful ceremony setting was setup and there waiting was Liam with his Groomsmen. The rest of the story i’ll leave to the images..

I might add Liam is an extremely talented Film Maker and Producer and has worked on many amazing projects, some of you might know Bondi Rescue!

Vancouver will always be a special place for me, I’ve spent some time there previously in the Canadian ski fields (with the rest of Sydney) but to be asked by Macushla and Jeff to Photograph their Destination Wedding in Canada was a huge privilege and honour combined. In terms of cities i’ve always maintained Vancouver is exactly the same as Sydney, nice people, a clean city, ‘outdoorsy’ and filled with potential. Vancouver in Summer however is another level altogether, I thought people we’re nice in the winter.. in Summer the people we’re so kind it bordered on being suspicious! Everybody is out in the parks, on their bikes, running with dogs, swimming or playing at the beach until 10pm when the sun went down. It really is a place of magic.

Small confession on my behalf, I already knew Macushla and Jeff. My wife happens to be good friends with Macushla and we’ve spent lots of time with these guys which was great because when it came time to being in front of the camera these guys were chillax’d. They wanted to have some portraits a few days prior to the wedding just in case it got too crazy on the day and we ran out of time. We got some stunners which i’m so happy to share below.

The Ceremony and Reception were held both at Bridges on Vancouver Island, a spectacular venue and restaurant on the boardwalk overlooking the city and Vancouver’s surrounding mountains. Vancouver is known for being wet and rainy for a good portion of the year but the weather that day was sunny, clear and H-O-T! If you look closely you might see some beads of sweat on the grooms face, partly because of nerves but mostly because the temperature was nearing 30degrees with significant humidity.

It was a stunning wedding, so much love for these two by family and friends made it a such a beautiful day and a pleasure to photograph. And….What a party!!! I may have boogied alittle myself, best way to get great pics in the action!

Enjoy Macushla and Jeff’s wedding picture story.

Alex and Tom’s wedding was something very special. They asked their guests to meet at the NSW Art Gallery in Sydney for a beautiful greeting and welcoming to the upcoming ceremony. Together with the Bride and Groom at the lead they all walked down past in the Royal Botanical Gardens to the wedding ceremony location under the Gazebo in the Herb Garden. Along the walk the feeling of love and happiness for the union these two were about to undertake was very special to witness. I feel very privileged to have captured these beautiful images for these guys and grateful that they created a wedding ceremony and celebration that was right for them. Being a Sydney Wedding Photographer it’s very unique to see a couple step outside the box and take a fresh look at how they can make their vows and begin their journey. All weddings are great truth be told, but these somehow hold more genuine emotion and meaning than some others.

Enjoy Alex and Tom’s Special Story.

Incredibly lovely people, beautifully planned day, super fun bridal party and the first sunny day in 2 weeks meant that Jess and Scotts Wedding was a joy to photograph. Being a Northern Beaches Wedding Photographer I was even more happy to work with these guys and bring local knowledge to their big day.

They had an awesome Little Manly Ceremony and celebrated in style on Sydney Harbour aboard the Reception cruiser The Blue Room. Anyone looking for a reception venue on the harbour this is the boat for you! Plenty of space, split level, very helpful and attentive wait staff, quiet (some boats are loud!) and on time are a few nice things to say about this company. Highly Recommended photographically as well. The boat is walled by floor to ceiling glass which is fantastic for flash photography to make sure everyone is well lit especially when it gets dark. I particularly also liked the second level ‘breakout area’ which always comes in handy when Uncle John has gone too hard on the dance floor early in the night, or if you just want to take a few moments to enjoy Sydney Harbour during the evening.

These two we’re the first clients I’ve has followed from Engagement to Wedding and i’m so privileged for the opportunity in telling their story through these images.

It was a scorching 33 degrees on this wedding day but that didn’t phase these two, they had an ear to ear grin all day which made my job so much easier, the images we captured together are proof. If I had to describe their wedding I would use a simple word that speaks volumes, ‘heart’. Whether it was immediate family, relo’s or close friends there was so much love for these two and the union they entered into together. I’ve photographed many weddings over time as a Sydney Wedding Photographer and these were one of my favourite couples to photograph. Josh and Amanda got married in a beautiful intimate ceremony amongst close family and friends in the Blue Mountains, just outside of Katoomba in a little town called Blackheath. It was such a beautiful day to watch these guys tie the knot and such a privilege to photograph their special day together. Although the rain set in during the day and they couldn’t get their outdoor ceremony at Echo Point they still made it incredibly special by having the ceremony indoors at Jemby Rinjah EcoLodge in Blackheath. Congratulations guys and thank you again for having me as your Blue Mountains Wedding Photographer. The ceremony was held inside the venue and portraits were taken just down the road at the stunning and majestic Blackheath lookout.

These legends were absolute health fanatics and they catered the wedding food to be absolute delicious and all natural. Check out the vegan naked cake, i’m not ashamed to say I had 2 slices.. but only because they insisted! Their health focus made me inspired to start exercising more regularly and eating a healthy diet. I’d like to say I kept it up but I think I need to spend more time around them so it sticks.

Please enjoy Amanda and Josh’s picture story.

Photographing a wedding is all about moments. Big moments, small moments, the moments between, and the moments when nobody is looking and it’s a photographers job to anticipate and capture these moments for stunning wedding photos. These are the times when I take images which I call ‘magic’. They’re so unique and special that they can be revisited time and again to cherish and the bride and groom can be instantly transported back to this point on their special day. These are the shots when I walk away and feel like I’ve got gold in my pocket.

They married in a beautiful Clovelly Church and celebrated their marriage in a little Sydney park known as Centennial Park.

Please enjoy Jacqui and Kierans picture story.
